Holiday Hosting Starts Here, Curating the Perfect Premium Kitchen

With Christmas around the corner, everyone is scrambling to find out who is hosting this years family get-together. If you've pulled the short-straw, you've probably had a quick gander of your kitchen and realised it needs a little bit of a touch up.

In this article, we go over the steps to spruce up your space without having to completely renovate the kitchen.

Appliances

The most important thing to consider for a family get-together is to make sure your appliances are fit for use. Sometimes your appliances just need a little clean-up. However, if an appliance is playing up, it may need to be replaced.

At London Appliances we offer next day delivery and installation to all London postcodes, so even if your appliance goes bust a few nights before your big event, we will be here to help you.

Basic checks for your appliances

Your cooking appliances (such as hobs, ovens and extractors) may have grease build-up inside or on the surface of the appliance. Using a degreaser to clean the surfaces helps by clearing any blocked vents or fans.

Similarly for your refrigeration, cleaning out your unit can help preserve foods for longer by getting rid of residue and clearing up any vents inside. Most shelves and drawers are removeable, making it easier to clean up.

Also, allowing the appliance to defrost (even if it is frost-free) clears up any blockages that have built-up internally. The best method to go about this is to simply turn off the unit for a couple of days.

For laundry appliances and dishwashers, cleaning out the filters and checking the drainage pipes for any blockages is sufficient.

Changing Appliances

You may feel like you just want to change your appliances, which is perfectly fine. New appliances modernise a kitchen almost instantly as well as having the latest features to give you a helping hand on your cooking endeavours.

Cabinetry

Kitchen cabinets can wear and gather dirt and grime over a long period of time. Before considering switching out the cabinets, clean the surfaces with a mild cleaner and polish (depending on the material of the cabinets) to get rid of any stains. You should also tighten hinges as these loosen from usage.

You can choose to paint your kitchen cabinetry to restore its original colour or just to give your kitchen a different, fresh look.  You could also change the cabinet doors whilst keeping the same housing.

Décor

Adding in decorations like family photos or plants gives the kitchen a bit of life and creates an inviting, homely atmosphere in the space.

These are the easiest parts of redecorating but offer the most personalisation. The small details create a lasting impact whilst also making the space uniquely yours.
